In order for me to create my own advert effectively I must analyse current adverts, if I want to beat the competition I've got to know what I'm up against, right?

Here are two existing adverts for REYKA vodka. The text "In Iceland the only flavoured vodka we make is vodka flavoured vodka" This says that they only produce original vodka with no fancy flavours, just good vodka, plain and simple. The text in both adverts is placed in the centre, towards the top, this makes it easier for the viewer to read as soon as they see it. The font that has been used is a type called sans serif, this means it has no edges around the characters, helping contribute to the modern contemporary feel of the ad.
The colour scheme of the advert has been kept uncomplicated by using three or four colours at the most. The accents of red in the text and on the models clothing all help capture the viewers attention.
One of the main advertising tactic REYKA use in their marketing is humour. Humour is an element many companies use in their marketing campaigns, they believe if you can get a viewer to laugh it often makes the advert more memorable, if people remember the ads it can turn them into potential customers.
Most of the REYKA adverts fallow the same layout with a model being in the centre of the ad and text just above her. The product has been placed on the right hand corner of the image. This done because if the advert is published in magazines, when the reader turns the page they will see the product directly. Page turning is when the viewer looks most at the ad, placing it there gives it optimum exposure to readers.
