Dom Moore is a freelance photographer from Plymouth, who produces imagery in a deadpan style. Here are two of my favorite images from last years Love Union Street, Street party. Read my last blog post here for more info!

I love the soft use of colours in this image, it gives a retro vintage feel to the photograph. I also really like the composition as the model is right in the centre of the frame. The bunches of balloons either side of the model, add an element of symmetry which helps balance out the image. One of the main contrasts in this image is the brightly coloured balloons and materials against the slightly industrial style, grungy backdrop.

I picked this photograph as I like the community spirit that is being portrayed. The road markings on the lower part of the image add depth and lead you into the picture. There is some contrast between the left side of the image and the right side. The left side is very bright, colourful and looks like a happy place. But the right side looks dark and miserable, without much colour. This shows the two aspects of Union Street, one hand it is sometimes not a nice place to be, buildings are derelict and the area is pretty run down. On the other hand with the help and support of the local neighborhood it can be a really nice community orientated place to be.
