When photographing commercially it is important to record data such as distances between models and the camera, distances between lighting and the camera and other objects used in the shoot. The best way to do this to to create a diagram. Although this photoshoot is not a commission I want to get into the habit of producing these diagrams for every shoot.
Diagram created using a website called lightingdiagrams.com
Keeping a record of the layout and distances in my shoot means that if I ever want/need to recreate it I can do so without having to do it from memory. It also means that if I need to construct the shoot again with an assistant they can help set it up exactly as it was by looking at the diagram.
